Up North Battlefield League is a place for clans to compete in a league style, quite different from a ladder such as ClanBase.

The Up-North Battlefield league was founded during the summer of 2003 as a league for the growing Battlefield 1942 community. The need for an alternative to CB was acknowledged by several posts in a lot of different forums. The Counter-Strike community had already pretty much abandoned CB and most serious clans played in leagues. Although the BF1942 CB-ladder was not as "rotten" as the CS-ladders, most people like leagues better than ladders.

It is now come to the point, summer of 2005, where the BF1942 community have almost toatly died due to the relase of the "real" sequel to Battlefield 1942; Battlefield 2. It is also high time for the Up-North league to take all the experience that we have gained during the two years of running this league, and evolve the Up-North league and lead it into a new era.

We want to make this a fun experience for all clans. Our goal is not to compete with tournaments such as BF2SM, EB2L or SAAW, but to offer an alternative to Clanbase.

If you compare the league game style with the ladder there is always a closer goal, becoming division winner. Being in 101st place in a ladder, fighting for the first position might make you lose your motivation. Fighting to become division master is closer at hand. The league offers regular matches, not sparce challenges.

Since this page is not run by any company or organization, we do not have much money to spend on webhosting.
Our first webhost was B-One, the cheapest webhost around and also the slowest...

After that INFIDYNE came to the rescue and were kind enough to support us for a while.

Currently we do not have a webhost sponsorship, but we are constantly on the lookout for such. If you are interested in helping us out in this area, please do not hesitate to contact Truppo.

just wondering if I'm allowed to play in this ladder?
I got caught exploiting(I was bored) on El Alamein a little more than a year ago, and if I'm not misstaken, I was banned for it. I'm just checking up on this so I know for sure if I'm allowed to play incase I feel like joining a clan(if any clan wants me).
I'll behave this time, or quit playing before I'm bored. :)

I would recommend sending a PM to Truppo or adressing this issue in the forum instead. I'm pretty sure that would work better, atleast in the way of getting a reply.

I'd rather discuss it in public so that everyone is aware of the situation...
Name and shame, is what I think is the proper way to deal with cheators, and I'd rather let people know right away that I got caught abusing a bug during a match than have them find out after they reqruited me and then feeling bad for having someone in their clan that they have to be afraid of getting caught cheating again or become angry with me because I havn't told them about it and they'll feel like they "bought the pig in the sack". Everyone makes misstakes, but I'm just showing to people that I'm man enough to admit them. I'm not hiding in shame, hoping that no one will ever bring it up again.
I'm feeling a bit bad about cheating like that, now afterwards. Especially since I played for Finland in UN funcup, so now I wan't to clean up after myself to gain back some of the reputation that I once had in BF1942.
If no one is willing to accept me as a player in this ladder, I'm willing to take that, but atleast it's better to have tryed once and faild than to never have tryed at all.

Fine, but don't expect anyone to answer because I'm pretty sure noone reads this part of the site, atleast not the comments.

That is why I recommend you again to take it up in the UN-forum instead, and don't worry, that would be a hell lot more public then it is here.
